The Israel Magen Fund is dedicated to safeguarding lives in Israel by supporting vulnerable communities with security, medical equipment, and essential gear for soldiers. As our brave soldiers begin their journey to serve their country, it’s our responsibility to ensure they are equipped with not just the basic necessities, but the essential items that enhance their daily lives and overall well-being.
We have undertaken a new initiative with the hopes of continuing our mission of providing essential gear and equipment for our devoted soldiers. We have started a new campaign called the Soldier Kit Project. Our mission is simple yet profound – to provide soldier kits for every religious soldier entering the army as part of their Yeshiva Hesder program. These kits offer a lifeline of support, ensuring our soldiers have access to crucial items that may not be provided by the army but are vital for their comfort and safety.
There are two recruitment periods during the year for the Yeshivot Hesder boys to enter basic training. At the start of their basic training, while still in Yeshiva, the Israel Magen Fund will contact every incoming soldier and distribute their own kit. This proactive approach ensures that each soldier receives the necessary support and resources they need from the very beginning of their service.
With your generous support, each soldier will receive a soldier kit, offering them comfort and assurance as they bravely represent Klal Yisrael in Israel and beyond. Your contribution goes beyond material goods; it sends a powerful message to these soldiers that they are not alone – that the entire community stands with them, actively seeking their safe return to civilian life, both spiritually and materially.
While the army provides a basic list and coupon vouchers, our soldier kits include key items that provide an extra layer of security and protection throughout their service period. Here’s what each kit includes:
- 1 pair of Dry fit Army green Tzitzis to size: Ensuring our soldiers are equipped with appropriate religious garments as they serve.
- 1 multi-tool with belt case (similar to Leatherman): A versatile tool to aid them in various tasks and situations.
- 1 hands-free flashlight – helmet mountable: Providing illumination and safety during nighttime operations.
- 1 mesh bag suitable for shower and field use: Practical storage solution for their personal belongings.
- 1 durable pocket weekly siddur: Offering spiritual guidance and comfort, even in the most challenging times.
- 1 set of thermal underwear: Keeping our soldiers warm and protected in harsh conditions.
Each Soldier Kit costs $180, including delivery.
